Ever since I developed my sugar plum butter it has become a tradition to make it every year. Make extra and give away as a gift along with some homemade scones. I also make it a point of makin other recipes that you can use up any of my fruit butter recipes as I do not like any food to go to waste.
So on that note let's get started.
Sugar Plum Cheese Danish
1 Sheet Puff Pastry
6 Tbsp. Sugar Plum Butter
4 Oz. Cream Cheese, Softened
3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 Egg, lightly beaten
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 Egg, lightly beaten
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Roll out your puff pasty slightly and cut into 6 even squares. Place them onto a baking sheet.
In a small bowl add in the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and half of the egg. Mix until well combined. Reserve the other half of the egg.
Add a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto each of prepared puff pastry squares. Top with a spoonful of the sugar plum butter.
Slightly fold in the edges of the puff pastry towards the center.
Brush the remaining egg mixture onto the puff pastry.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
Serve and enjoy.
