Make a batch or two of these for your next holiday gathering.
Let's get started.
Sausage Rolls
1 Lb. Sausage
1/2 Tsp. Freshly Ground Black Pepper
2 Tsp. Fennel Seeds, slightly crushed
3 Tsp. Steak Seasoning
1.5 Tbsp. Honey
2 Sheets Puff pastry, thawed
1 Egg, scrambled for glazing
Poppy seeds or sesame seeds for topping, optional
Stone ground mustard, for serving
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a bowl add in the sausage, black pepper, fennel seeds, steak seasoning, honey, and mix until well combined. Mixture will be sticky but it will turn out okay.
Roll out the puff pastry sheets into a long rectangle. Divide the sausage in half and place the sausage mixture onto the prepared puff pastry sheets, just off center. Brush one side of the puff pastry with egg wash. Close sausage roll and cut into bite sized pieces.
Brush the tops with egg wash and top with poppy seeds.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until sausage is fully cooked through and puff pastry is golden brown.
Serve and enjoy.
