Mujaddara - Lebanese Lentils and Rice

Mujaddara is a delicious mixture of lentils and rice. Topped with crispy onions. Simply the best. Make this and enjoy.

Let's get started.

Mujaddara  
1 Cup Long Grain Rice
2 Cups Green Lentils
3 Onions
1 Tsp. Salt
2 Tsp. Cumin
4 Cups Water
Vegetable Oil, for frying

In a pot, add in oil to cover the bottom of the pot. 

Thinly slice two onions and fry until the onions are golden and crispy about 15-20 minutes. Drain fried onions and set aside.

Remove most of the oil from the pot. Leaving only two tablespoons behind.

Add in one chopped onion, lentils, and water. Cover and cook for 10 minutes. 

Add in the rice and salt. Cover and cook for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to sit for an additional 15 minutes. 

Add in cumin and fluff with a fork.

Serve and top with crispy onions.
