Whip up a batch of these weekend. Go to a pumpkin patch or watch some scary movies and enjoy the fall season.
Let's get started.
Apple Blondie's
1 1/2 Sticks of Butter, (3/4 Cups total)
1/2 Cup Apple Butter
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract
2 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Tsp. Baking Powder
2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp. Nutmeg
1 Tsp. Kosher Salt
2 Honey crisp Apples, Peeled and chopped
Maple Glaze
3 Tbsp. Butter
3 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar + more if needed
1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp. Kosher Salt
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a medium pot using medium heat, add the butter and allow it to cook for 2-3 minutes, making sure to stir often. Remove from the heat and stir in 1 cup of the brown sugar and apple butter. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Whisk in the eggs and vanilla. Add in the flour, baking powder, 1 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
In a separate bowl, toss the apples with remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, making sure all the apple pieces are evenly coated.
Sprinkle the apples over the dough and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
Meanwhile, make the glaze. Melt the butter in a pot and cook over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat and whisk in the maple syrup, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Drizzle over the apple blondies and allow to set for 5-10 minutes. Cut the blondies into bars.
Serve and enjoy.
