Okay, so I have no idea if anyone else does this. However, I love theme nights that involve food. 😂 Not sure if that's too surprising. Anyhow, The House of the Dragon is coming out and I seriously cannot wait. I was obsessed with Game of Thrones. I decided to create a simple menu for a House of the Dragon watch party. Don't judge me lol. I may add some additional recipes for ongoing episodes so keep an eye out for them. Let me know in the comments if they're any recipes you would like for me to create for this show or any other.
Let's get started.
Blood Orange Cocktail
4 Oz. Vodka
4 Oz. Vodka
1/2 Oz. Triple Sec
1 Oz. Basil Simple Syrup
8 Oz. Blood Orange Juice, freshly squeezed
1 Cup of Ice
Blood Orange Slices and Basil for garnish
Start by making the basil simple syrup. Combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water along with 10 leaves of basil. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and allow to sit for two hours. Store at room temperature.
Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake for 15 seconds. Prepare a glass by rimming it with orange juice and dipping it in sea salt. Pour the drink in the prepared glass and enjoy.
Dragon Eggs
8 Eggs, soft boiled
1 1/2 Lbs. Ground Italian Sausage
1 1/2 Cups Panko Breadcrumbs, Italian seasoned
1 1/2 Cups Pecorino or Parmesan Cheese, freshly grated
1 Tsp. Dried Parsley
1 Tsp. Mustard
Salt
Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
2 Eggs, beaten
Vegetable Oil for frying
Add water into a medium pot and bring up to a boil. Add in the eggs and cook for 6 minutes. Drain and add them into an ice bath to stop the cooking. Carefully remove the shells from the eggs.
In a bowl, add in the ground pork, 1 cup of pecorino, parsley, mustard, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix until well combined. Divide into 8 even balls and set aside.
In a separate plate, add in the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
In a small bowl, add two eggs and beat with a fork. Set aside.
In a separate bowl or plate mix together the breadcrumbs, remaining 1/2 cup of pecorino, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
Working one egg at a time, flatten 1 portion of the sausage and flatten into and even disk. Carefully add in one egg into the middle and surround the egg with sausage. Repeat with remaining eggs.
Place eggs first into the flour mixture, shake off excess flour. Then dip them into the beaten eggs, then press into the breadcrumbs, making sure to shake off excess breadcrumbs. Set prepared eggs into a plate.
In a cast iron pan add in vegetable oil that comes up halfway to the pan. Heat until oil reaches 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add 4 eggs into the pan and fry for 3 minutes then flip and fry for an additional 3 minutes. Repeat with remaining eggs.
Serve and enjoy.
