Pasta Alfredo is something you can eat bowl after bowl. Honestly I think that about any pasta dish.
While pasta is a pantry staple, heavy cream might not be. If all you have is the premade alfredo sauce, please feel free to use that. In California we are under a Shelter in Place order and unless you are completely out of groceries I would advise against going to the market for just a handful of ingredients.
Let's get started.
Pasta Alfredo Printable Recipe
1 lb. Pasta (any kind you have on hand)
1 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tbsp. Butter
3 Cloves of Garlic, finely minced
Salt
Freshly Ground Black Pepper
2 Cups Heavy Cream
1 Cup freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Make pasta according to the package directions on the box for perfect al dente.
In a medium pot, add in the Olive Oil, butter, and garlic. Stir until fragrant. About 1-2 minutes.
Add in the heavy cream and stir until it starts simmering.
Add in the parmesan cheese a little at a time constantly stirring. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer sauce until it has thickened 8-10 minutes.
Toss the pasta and sauce together and top with additional parmesan cheese and parsley if you have any available.
Serve and enjoy.
*Note: feel free to add sauted chicken, broccoli, sliced onion, if you have any available kids always gobble up veggies when coated with a cheese sauce. Shrimp works great with this sauce too.**
