A BBQ In the USA

Since I'm doing #bbqaroundtheworld I wanted to start with one I am very familiar with. The USA.

As you know, there are many different types of BBQ here in the states. They are all delicious. Nothing is better then firing up the grill and cooking some ribs, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, and enjoying the nice summer days with your friends and family.

For my #bbqaroundtheworld I decided to shine a light on my favorite summer foods.

BBQ Ribs are a thing of beauty!! Although time consuming, BBQ Ribs are worth each and every minute.

Everyone has their own special twist on these beauties here's mine..

BBQ Ribs Serves 6-8 Printable Recipe

Ingredients
2 racks of Ribs
4 Tbsp. Sugar (I like using half regular sugar half brown sugar)
3 Tbsp. Smoked Paprika
3 Tbsp. Salt
3 Tsp. Freshly Ground Black Pepper
2 Tsp. Garlic Powder
2 Tsp. Onion Powder
2 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil

Directions
Combine your spices together. Remove the membrane off the back part of the ribs and trim any excess fat.

Oil your ribs and season generously with spice mix. Wrap your ribs tightly in aluminum foil about two times to make sure they are really secure. Marinate for a minimum of two hours overnight is best.

Remove your ribs from the fridge about an hour before you start grilling to let the ribs come to room temperature.

Heat up your grill, set up your grill for indirect cooking you want your charcoal to be all white before you add in your ribs. I like throwing in some hickory pieces in as well for extra flavor.

Once the grill is ready and your ribs are room temperature. Place your ribs meatier side down and away from the coals. Close the lid and cook for about three hours, turn them over and cook for another hour. Adding coals as needed.

The last 15 minutes open your grill and check to see if your ribs are tender, base with your favorite BBQ sauce and sear on the hot side of the grill for a couple of seconds on each side.

Remove from the Grill and enjoy.

For those of you wondering, I enjoy a homemade BBQ sauce. Recipe is below if you're interested.
